So sad to hear Ron is in a Care Home now. Let's hope he stays safe and well. Ron might have been a businessman but he was also a man of the people. He didn't know me but he always found time for a chat when he came in through the far gate or if he saw me walking around the ground. Look after yourself Ron.

What would be nice if and when the first game back at Nyewood Lane happens,it could be become a day of celebration of those weโve lost in the last year, weather itโs people that have worked for the club in some capacity or even fans.
๐ Rocks.

Hi all - I am just writing a piece in which Jack is paying heartfelt tributes to Bernie and to Graham Macintosh. I have pictures of Bernie but I wonder if anyone has in their archives any pictures of Graham? Also is Graham Macintosh the correct spelling? The piece also mentions Tony Baker and I'd like also to mention Doug who has also been lost relatively recently. Could anyone help me with surname? Thanks for any help!

Thanks JFTR - much appreciated. Hi Steve, I'd hold fire and just check Graham's spelling with someone else. I'm fairly sure it's Macintosh.

A fine tribute Steve to volunteers at the club who have died. I would like to say a few words about those at the club who while still alive have had to step down because of poor health. Tony Baxter is one but is still a loss to the club because after his stroke he no longer works at the club anymore. Ten years ago a lot of the volunteers would gather in the office with Mo and that included Doug Glossop and Tony Baxter. It was a sort of Dads Army, where Jack was Captain Mainwaring and I played Pike. Tony Baker and Mac would always pop along. Tony Baxter was an ever present. Once a customer came into my shop and said who is that man I see every day looking after the pitch at the football club. I narrowed it down to Tony and he said well that man deserves an award. He told me he worked at the care home behind the Butlins scoreboard and had seen Tony out in all weathers tending to the pitch and he was impressed. He didn't know Tony, he didn't even know his name but that made it even more special that he nominated him in such a way. So I salute all those who though still with us, have started to enjoy a well earned retirement. COYR !
