You could add Crawley to that list, we used to play them regularly in Southern league games. I'm also aware about injuries caused by the pitch, in my Refeering days (Surrey not Sussex) there were regularly nasty injuries caused by the pitch, mind you that was in the 80's and hopefully pitch technology as advanced since then. I'm sue Pete Helsby a much more senior ref than me, had similar experiences.

Also forgotten Eastleigh. I think there is a debate and study to be had about injuries. The ball is played on the ground more (my definition of proper football) so there are less impact and heading injuries but there appears to be more knee ligament (twisting) injuries.

There's many a true word spoken in jest! I've had many grass burns on grass pitches. If you are old enough to have seen a Jack Pearce slide tackle then you will have noticed Havant, Eastbourne, Dorking, Worthing and Horsham overtake and leave Bognor behind. The progress made by Hastings, Chichester, Littlehampton, Lancing, Horndean and Portchester could easily leave Bognor playing football as it was meant to be with teams it's not meant to be playing against. I should stick to what you know best,Worthing isnt it?

Ive seen plenty of head injuries on Plastic piches, all caused by the irregular bounce of the ball. So really that disproves your heading theory, but I make you right about knee ligament injuries.

I'll ask permission next time!
