Hi All
Just wanted to gauge an idea, on how people think we will do this season. What our objective is, and what are we aiming for. Our defence is looking really good having signed Joe Cook and a few more established member's of the squad being tied down with our keeper, Harvey, the Leigh brothers, Craney etc . I still think we need more fire power up front to help Bradley, and I fully trust in Jack & Robbie to do so, as they are a both a real asset and I trust them 100%. The ground improvement's from what I have heard are amazing and second to none. The friendlies so far have looked good & promising with new player's being tried out, and it is about getting formations, tactics & idea's right. Also tried and trusted player's for each position with adequate cover, as we know injuries will crop up especially with games coming thick and fast midweek and cup games for example it is ineviatable I think the essential & key thing is the start, wheras last year we had a awful start and were playing catch up, this year I am more optimistic. We do not have a home game until 3rd October, playing Bishop Stortford, Haringey Borough & Horsham in our first 3 away games. What is the verdict on the opening 3 games as I know all 3 are potentially tough and hard to get points from.
Any thoughts and opinions gratefully received.
Hope everyone is well
Neil

I think we should be optimistic and hopefully look at a play off position, the title will be between Worthing and Horsham i feel. Hopefully Jack and Robbie have got some fingers in pies down the road at Pompey with regard to loanees, i agree with Neil we need reinforcement up front. Let's hope we get off to a good start in the 3 away games, the Lane could be rocking for the opening league game.

There is such a buzz around the ground and amongst the players
Providing we get a decent start we will certainly be in the mix at the end of the season. Get a 25 goals a season forward we will be worth a bet for the title. Fingers crossed can't wait for the start of the season

From the friendlies that I’ve been down to watch, Horndean and East Preston, we certainly have a basis of a very good young side although the real tests in pre season will be against Chic City and Gosport. Joe Cook is a fantastic signing and a centre half we have needed since El Abd went off to Dorking. Also at the the back Calvin Davies is also like a new signing and it’s been a great boast to see him rampaging down the wings in the games above. My real worry at this stage is we don’t have enough power up front to score the 20+ goals that Dan Smith’s absence will highlight. Hopefully Jack and Robbie can find a gem from somewhere along the South Coast. At the moment I see the playoffs being our best route to promotion but Worthing, Horsham, Folkestone. Carshalton and Cray will all be there or there about again which is why it’s crucial we don’t have another horrific start like last season.
