Disappointment in the end with the late late equaliser conceded. What makes it even more frustrating is that Ben Wyss appeared to be in an offside position when receiving the ball on the right, before his low cross-shot found it’s way in. But when the linesman is behind with play, he’s hardly going to be in a position to call offside. Alfie Bridgman appears to be holding his own goal of the season contest, with another beauty, curling home from the edge of the box. In the second half however, we didn’t threaten the ETU goal much, lacking with some of our distribution in the final third. Amadou saved what looked like a certain equaliser, smothering at the near post, with the visitors also having a goal chalked off for offside. It looked like it would be our day, but as it proved, not the case in the end and could well prove to be an enormous point for the visitors. I see we’ve got a new raffle ticket salesman. Looks familiar. I think he did it before. Finally, I suppose I’d better say it…. congrats to that lot up the road for clinching the title this afternoon. After the last couple of years, there won’t be anyone who says they don’t deserve it.

Really disappointed with the way the game went at the end......should have been three points but you dont always get what you deserve......
But , do we really need constant tannoy interruptions while the game is in play especially at the end of a tense 1-0 game.....and as for Mr Pearce .....go to a comedy store open mike night if you have an urge to tell jokes over a mic.......

Not the greatest spectacle, to be honest. Two teams who had plenty of commitment but not a great deal of quality. On the day that Worthing clinched the title, it was a bit of a sobering reminder that we are, on the pitch at least, now quite some way behind them and it’ll take a fair bit of rebuilding to get back to that level. I think we have the nucleus of a decent side, especially defensively, but it’ll take a few more additions with a bit more nous and quality to improve us in midfield and up front.
As for Worthing, well done to them. It’ll be interesting to see how they fare at the higher level, especially after our dismal attempt a few years ago! As we found out, it’s a huge step up in terms of the quality of the opposition but they strike me as being slightly better equipped than we were to make a decent go of it, especially as their manager seems the sort who would savvy enough to realise they’ll need to adapt and strengthen somewhat.

Relieved to hear that the injury to Dan Gifford may not be as bad as it looked. The appalling tackle happened right in front of the stand and it certainly appeared to me that the tackle and the ETU player's flailing leg afterwards were intended to take Dan out of the game. Well, he certainly did that. Nothing from the ref, of course, except a yellow to Robbie for complaining. I am well used to abysmal officiating at the matches I see, but this ref plumbed new depths. Cracking goal from Alfie Bridgman who looked top notch all game. ETU lived down to their usual cynical standard but, despite everything, it was match we should have won.

BTW, totally agree with paul, as above - an accurate, succint summary.
