Friday night sees local rivals Worthing visit us at the Lane. They have had a busy pre-season schedule and visit Horsham on Tuesday night so it will be interesting to see what sort of side they field. However knowing the local rivalry, and the fact they will not want to disappoint their fans; I am sure that they will bring the bulk of their squad. Hopefully we will be seeing a few announcements of signings this week so the Bognor fans will have a better of knowledge of where our squad is. All in all a tasty friendly awaits so hopefully another decent gate under the lights at the lane. Comeon down and get behind the team 7.45 kick off

Upto now Worthing have played a lot of trialists. It will be interesting to see what sort of team rocks up. Their league programme starts a week before us so I would imagine it will be a fairly decent side put against ys. Lead to believe that virtually all our squad is now signed up so as I said before hopefully a really good game and decent workout.

Entertaining game a draw was possibly s fair result although will probably think they did enough to win. Both sides had chances in the first half both hit the woodwork. Bridgeman should have done better when through on goal. 2nd half Bognor continued to close down high up the pitch, showing grest energy. A rasping shot by Calvin hit the bar and Nick Dembele slotted home the rebound. Bognor still held the upper hand as both sides rung the changes. With game dragging on into the last 10, a poor defensive error gave Worthing the chance to equalise which they took. Worthing finished the stronger but Bognor must have regretted not killing the game off earlier. 1-1 and a hard workout for both teams. A couple of weeks off now to finalise their training. Personally I cannot wait for the start of the season and have to say the is a real feelgood feeling around the club at the moment!!

Yes it’s only pre season. Does the result matter no. But did the performance leave me thinking we could have something decent this season,YES.
Yes Worthing weren’t at their best, will we play many teams better in the league than Worthing this season, probably not. So yes again it was a PSF you still have to take as many positives from it. Thought the ref managed the game well to allow a few challenges that gave it that extra spice/competitiveness that you want going into the season. Worthing could have been 1-0 up after 5 mins by hitting the post. Rocks rallied and played some decent stuff. Calvin’s thunderbolt was over the line but Nick Dembele was on hand to bundle the ball over the line and into the net.
Aye if we have games like we’ve seen this summer throughout the season we should be enjoying more happy days than annoying ones.
Up The Rocks.

My first look at the squad and l was very impressed. New signings and a new look promises a good season l think. The players appear to have a great committment with each other. Fitness looks good and there seems to be a great attitude within the squad. The coaching staff have a lot to think about to whittle it down in readiness for tge new season. It was really good to see that we appear to have a strike force that look very capable and the defensive additions will clearly make up for the departure of Joe Cook.

Another excellent workout last night. I know pre season is a time which could herald false dawns, however I think we are putting together a team that should more than hold their own. Calvin and Harvey were immense last night, with everybody else playing their part. The press from the whole side was very impressive. Interesting for me was Worthing's change of style from last year. They hit a lot of long balls, when they were very successful last year playing good possession football. I don't know if that is intentional, however I can't see it getting them too far in National South with 3 diminutive men up front. I hope the squad enjoy their day at Goodwood, and back many winners.
