Tuesday night we travel down the coast to Southampton to play Southern League Div 1 side Sholing in our last friendly ahead of next weeks curtain opener. Sholing finished off last season near the top of their league and should give Bognor a hard work out. Fans attending are reminded that it is a 7.30 kick off.

A 1.1 draw in a really competitive hard fought game. Credit to Sholing who made the game difficult for the Rocks. A defensive error lead to Sholing taking an early lead after Bognor had all the early play. But for the hosts keeper making a couple of fine saves this game could have been all but over in the first 5 minutes. Sholing kept the lead until just before half time when Ton Chayale equalised. In fairness to Sholing a halftime score of 1.1 was about right. 2nd half despite many changes Bognor looked the stronger team only to continually be thwarted by the hosts keeper. 1.1 at the final whistle where Bognor had the Lions share of the play and chances but failed to capitalise on rhem. A really good competitive workout for both teams, and I for one would be in favour of making this a regular pre-season game as I felt Sholing offered good opposition and a style of direct football that we don't often experience in the league. So unbeaten in all our pre-season games and reason to have real optimisim for the league campaign!! Role on Saturday. COYR's
