Next Saturday Bognor return to league action when for the 3rd consecutive weekend they are on the road, this time to the Hartsdown Park Stadium, the home of Margate F.C. The hosts were formed in 1896, and were originally called Margate Town F.C. During the 1980's they changed their name again to Thanet United, before they returned as Margate F.C. Nicknamed 'The Gate' in 2014 they were promoted via the playoff's to the Conference South, however they were relegated in 2016. Last game out Margate lost 3.1 at home to Hornchurch and at present time lie in 15th place.
Last season Bognor had the better of the results beating Margate 2.1 away and 4.1 at The Lane.
Fans are reminded that there is scheduled train strike next weekend. The supporters club are running a coach and if anyone wants to book a seat on the coach please contact either Ken Wood or Dave Robinson or book your seat on away day travel.

Older supporters might remember Margate’s days as a Conference.side which came to an unfortunate end in 2005 when they finished 16th but were compulsorily relegated due to problems with the Hartsdown Park stadium and pitch.
They were demoted to the newly-established Conference South and kicked-off the following season with a ‘home’ fixture (played at Ashford’s Homelands ground) against the Rocks, who had just made it into the new set-up having finished the previous (Isthmian) season in mid-table.
I remember that some of us were quite anxious about the ‘step up’ to Conference South - and especially that opening fixture away to what was effectively still a Confetence outfit. But the Rocks came away with an excellent 3-2 win and went on to finish the season in ninth place, whilst Margate finished third from bottom and suffered a second successive relegation.
