Glad the lads won. I set off for the match but never made it. I didn't realise they've completely ballsed up the M25 / A3 junction (Junction 10 - Wisley interchange) while they're 'improving' it until next summer.
Over a mile and a half and 30 minutes just to crawl along the single lane turnoff and onto the current single 'slip road' lane. With speed restrictions on both the M25 and A3 to boot, by the time I got to the snail pace traffic jam that is Guildford on a Saturday, I realised I'd miss kick off and I was still 40 miles away, so I dejectedly turned back as quickly as I could.

A strange scrappy game. First half little to excite another 700+ crowd. 2nd half a totally different game, better ball speed, sharper passing and looking more dangerous in the final 3rd. Goals from the hardworking Mather and a late goal by Davies catching the Kingstonian keeper out of his goal after his adventurous forward stroll for a Kingstonian corner. Gifford in his last game, unless the club can extend his loan worked hard, Harvey Whyte had his best game of the season always looking to push forward whilst Burgess continues to impress in the middle of the park, always in the right position but rarely doing anything flash, just effectively receiving the ball and distributing it quickly. A good second half and deserved victors, although I felt the visitors were struggling for long periods. Back on the road next week at Potters Bar; hopefully we can continue to win and push up the table!!

Two fairly evenly matched teams although if some of the wayward final ball/crosses in the first half had been half decent we would at least have created some good chances. However the second half was better and we just about deserved the three valuable points. Stand out player for me was Burgess, a player that looks a proper midfielder. Shame if that was Gifford's last game we will miss his energy & commitment.

Hi Goldy, I agree with the first, third, and fourth line of your post. I would have been inclined to put “Not much better”, for the second line !!!! My MoM would have been Matt Burgess. A Class act !!!!

Was a game we just had to win, any way we could. Other teams have/would have been more clinical in some of the opportunities to break we gave them in the first half BUT we looked dangerous going forward all day - Pattenden could have won 2 pens if he was a bit less honest in the first half. Mather was superb again and we looked so much better with Douglas back in the centre of defence (every big header/tackle/block seems to be him), think it helped with what I thought was a superb performance from Harvey having him inside of him! Shame we couldnt stick the pen away (great save I though, giff seemed to strike it well) and saved ourselves 10-20 minutes of stress 😂 Roll on Saturday!
P.s - any word on Gifford extending his loan/If Alfie is with the team yet Guess Giff isnt looking good given Farnborough just sold their first choice striker.

Great win Saturday. But one slight complaint from Saturday biggest disappointment for me was you win again by the bee gees didn't play. No better feeling walking out of nyewood lane listen to that being blasted out. Anyone know why is wasn't played like it has been for years???
