A good crowd turned up in high expectation after our Boxing Day success Unfortunately it was more a case of after the Lord Mayor's show. A very poor first half where both sides continued to give the ball away, and the ball speed was almost pedestrian compared to the Horsham game. Bognor had the best chance when Smith failed to get a shot in when through. Also a late penalty shout which looked obvious to everyone other than the ref. 2nd half Canvey looked better on the ball while Bognor continued to huff and puff. Canvey took the lead in the 54th minute with their first shot on goal. This woke Bognor up a bit, the introduction of Gifford, Mather and Olaniyan upped the ball speed. Despite a lot of the ball it looked like we were heading for a rare home defeat. Justice was done when Isaac headed home in the 87th minute. A draw at the final whistle was about all we deserved. Hopefully we can up our game and get a result on New Years Day at Lewes

Can’t really disagree to much with what was said. Ryan Hall not really having much to do all game, but a lapse in defence from a Canvey free kick lead to a well taken goal. But we changed it up,mixed it up and got what we deserved in my opinion. Good size crowd for a 1pm kick off, shame as a 3pm kick would have attracted a 1000+ crowd I reckon. 4 points from 6 this Xmas week, tough away game Monday where I’d be happy with a point but let’s go for iit Rocks 🤝
