An interesting game with a patched up team but a superb team effort. Wingate started the brighter and had a couple of good chances which went narrowly wide. However the first half was fairly even and quite tame as both teams sussed each other out. Then 5 minutes before half time the match changed. A really poor challenge on skipper Matt Burgess lead to a yellow card for the offender, and in the insueing fracas a 2nd yellow card for raising his hands to Lucas, consequently now becoming a red card!! The manager also got his marching orders at half time for a heated debate with ref. 2nd half Bognor came out on the front foot, Lucas caused problems down the right; Jasper missed 2 glorious chances and a draw looked likely to occur as Wingate dug in. However a Burgess thunderbolt sealed the game for Bognor and a deserved 3 points. I thought Dan Smith excelled at centre back reading game well whilst; Harvey was excellent having one of his best games this season. Lots of positives to take into Tuesday's game with Whitehawk. With other results going Bognors way the team are still just on the edge of the playoffs and with 4 home games on the bounce can they still make a late surge? Let's gets behind yhe team and see where it coild take us. COYR's!!!

Sounds silly. But I’m super proud of the squad and management yesterday.. With the problems we had,Robbie didn’t hide away and still tried and play our attacking way. For me Kieron leading the back line, when the team needed and a massive mention and well done to Dan Smith playing CB for 90+ minutes. First half was scrappy, but second half imo I genuinely thought there was only going to be one winner. But we did also make it hard for ourselves. But lots of goodness.
One thing I’ve loved about this season the players-fans interaction and love is superb. Reminds me of the times when Rocks have been successful.
Big shout out to Matt Burgess being a local lad and captain yesterday, youngest ever captain??

Given how hard it was to get a team out there, Dan having to move to Centre back - Pattendens first full game in 5 weeks - Seung's first start etc, it was a great shift. Was a tight affair before their player got himself needlessly sent off refusing to stop arguing/trying to fight people. Although even in that I have to say I was impressed with how our guys got there and instantly made it clear how unhappy they were with his challenge, within reason that kind of aggression/protecting teamates is perfect.
After that we did what we needed to create enough to deserve the points without ever being at our flowing best. Finished with a great strike from a young lad from bognor wearing the captains armband! Reaction was amazing, its been great as the seasons gone on seeing how the away fans have grown, in number and voice - even with a run of poor results and the m25 being a mess, credit to all. For me massive credit to Smudge, he looks an absolute natural wherever he seems to play. Football IQ is so high. Also shout out to Seung who looked tidy and played that holding role perfectly - never trying to do to much and keeping a solid shape.

Agree with everything said. Smithy was brilliant at center back. The team looked good. Having pattenden back made a big improvement to our attacking threat even though you could see he wasn't fully fit. We just need to be that little bit more clinical Infront of goal to kill teams off. Looking forward to tonight.
