Disappointing game in the manor of the way we lost. Our defence had more holes than the titanic!! I appreciate we are a patched up team, but we made some disappointing errors . The opposition despite their high position were there for the taking imoq and going forward we looked good. However you can't make stupid mistakes like we did.Hopefully Monday will see a sterner performance in our Sussex Derby or I fear for the final result

Promotion winning clubs have strong squads but not necessarily the best team. The current first team model doesn't work and injuries shouldn't be the reason for failure each and every season. There are many more young players with the talent and in many cases Isthmian league experience locally now. Mustn't continue to do the same thing and expect a different result!

Would 100% agree about the youngsters and generally the club has gone down that road this season. Unfortunately the injuries have been at the wrong time to our more experienced and key players. You need a happy mixture to get success as Worthing proved in the past. Hopefully the experience our younger players are getting will stand us in good stead for next season!@

We have built a good basis for a strong squad this season. With one or two moving on and new players coming in next season there is no reason we cannot be challenging. The point has been made about strength in depth and it is valid. But once again the financial aspect comes into play and as always, the committee will give an affordable budget for the playing squad. What they won't do is allow overspending and putting the club in debt.

Did I say or even imply anything about increasing the playing budget. I just said the current model doesn't work because it doesn't allow for injuries.

Pete makes a valid point regarding the playing budget and keeping to a sensible level of expenditure without going into debt. Without serious financial backing from a rich benefactor this is the only way forward and I understand and totally agree with the committee's stance on this.
However what supporters like me must realise and accept is that as a result the club is going to find it difficult, if not impossible, to ever achieve promotion from this division.
On a slightly different theme I saw Chichester City beat Littlehampton 2-0 this afternoon to consolidate their Play-Off chances. It will be interesting next season if Rocks and City are in the same division. A tasty Boxing Day fixture awaits maybe!

In the best of all possible worlds nothing is impossible including getting promoted from this division, we have done it before on a budget and can do it again. It is all a question of where you put the limited resources.
