Claims that this had come to a conclusion are, I'm afraid, incorrect. Previous matches on this date, 14th May. Apologies for repeating this bit, but the list isn't comprehensive, so if anyone wishes to add to it, please do. 1955 Sussex Senior Cup Final Bognor (Pitman 57, Hutchinson 106) 2 Horsham (Stepney 27) 1 aet Played at The Goldstone Ground

Yes, you had some of us fooled Andrew.
The Horsham goalscorer Robbie Stepney who I saw on a number of occasions went on to make around 235 appearances and scored 39 goals for Aldershot. I didn't realise until just now that he made quite a career at Tottenham Hotspur as one of the coaches. Sadly now passed away in 2019.

The first Senior Cup Final I attended, and we were really not expected to win. If my memory's correct didn’t we win it the next year as well against Eastbourne United, again as underdogs, with Norman Birkett playing a blinder aged about 17. Or I could be totally wrong as always.

Correct Mo, we did win it the following year, beating Eastbourne United 3-2

Back in those days Eastbourne were a nursery side for Arsenal, but I can’t remember if it was Town or United.
