' The planned return of spectators to sports venues will now not go ahead from October 1'
This has just been posted on MSN
Anyone got any clarity on this?

I'm sure all fans would like clarification which will probably be released in the next 24 hours from the Football Association. I would think there are currently lots of non-league fans surfing the internet looking for the same clarity that you seek.
My view is that I can't see how non-league football can continue with up to 600 people gathering together when the government are again squeezing the numbers at weddings, funerals and other gatherings.
However I'm currently clinging on to the hope that after listening to Johnson's speech that existing outside events were not mentioned, only the further postponement of larger outdoor sporting events such as 1000 fans at League games. I'm keeping every thing crossed that Non-League level three (and below) may have slipped through the net (but common sense tells me that it probably won't).
If it is banned under the new guidelines, that will be the season ended. Let's all hope that is not the case.

Click here for article: East Anglian Daily TimesThis article tells us that clubs at Non-League level 3 and below are still unsure what it all means at this level. So basically we still don't know!

I'm still trying to get my head around this and continue to hope that non-league level three and below has sneaked under the Government's radar.
A couple of things tothink about: Currently the National League and the National League North and South are categorised as 'Elite level' with no matches taking place. Therefore if that was to remain with no football taking place at those levels (due to no Government financial help being received and no crowds allowed) then there would be no relegation or promotion from those leagues. This then removes the element of promotion and relegation from Isthmian, Southern and Northern Leagues.
Another factor is the Government are saying no groups of more than 6 people can meet in back gardens, but if they come to a non-league football match where up to 600 can attend in a ground it will be allowed.
There is so much to think about and my own feeling is that when the "What About" brigade start pointing out a few inconsistencies then the rug might be pulled from below us.
Looking at it from a positive viewpoint, the Government may be thinking that for the sake of people's mental health and community spirit that local non-league football in front of limited crowds is something that they are happy to run with. (At least for the time being)

This is an interesting read: Click here: Eastbourne Herald ArticleIt's interesting that Langney Wanderers can play at the ground, but their landlords, Eastbourne Borough aren't allowed to play there. If I was a National South or North side I'd be fed up that crowds are NOT allowed, but that Isthmian, Southern and Northern League crowds ARE allowed.

That's the price you pay for being at what's called 'elite level' football, i.e. part of the National League structure and maybe also some squad players being full-time.
The manager of Dorking Wanderers was moaning about this recently, conveniently forgetting the town's traditional club Dorking FC was folded to allow those cuckoos to take over the newly built ground Dorking used to grace, plus they've got a money man to help them out. I hate that club. The town's already got one big cock on a roundabout without that manager as a stunt double.

It seems to me that the latest set of restrictions, including on sports, is based on little or no evidence and has little or no logic or rationale. Furthermore, according to what I hear/read from the politicians and media, there is no non-league football below the National league levels; hence, the ridiculous Eastbourne situation. One wonders what the FA position is and why they have not reacted - should they raise the situation ref the rest of non-league or stay quiet? Us supporters can but hope for the status quo.
Tongue in cheek - if Covid continues, then should the Rocks objective be to get in the play-offs but then lose so that they do not end up in NS South not being able to have spectators?

Perfectly true and what a wonderful way with words Rattlesnake!
I've said before on here Monday night's live game showing all those morons milling around cuddling behind the goal could well have b******d it up for anyone else at this level.
And not football I know but all those so called educated morons at University now flagging up so many cases. It should be if they're infected and if it's found to have been through untoward activities their place should be withdrawn and the b*****ds booted out in disgrace.
