It was unbelievable listening to Lee's commentary on the shambles at Hayes & Yeading but then a clip at the end of Everton v. Brighton game showed two players were exchanging shirts. It just beggars belief. Totally unbelievable in the current conditions.

I almost wish I had stayed at home and listened to lees commentary to see how he was able to portray 2 such different halves.we gave them the first 4 having been in control in the 1st half.my biggest concern is that I reckon 90% of the teams in our division will be better than hayes(taking nothing away from them as you don't win 5-0 purely by luck)but I would guarantee carshalton for one will be on Tuesday so it will be interesting to see if we can show a reaction.a day definately to forget.

I enjoyed my half-time coffee, happy in the knowledge that we had largely controlled the opening half playing some nice football. I was confident that we could go on and win the game. But within five minutes of the restart a couple of pieces of sloppy defending once again cost us dearly. We were then chasing the game, our opponents tails were up and further punishment followed. Our defending was poor, - the defending from the whole side not just the back five. Jake Flanagan had a decent game, Jordy Mongoy received little service but kept battling, however I can't think of too many individual performances that any player would be proud of.
I've noticed that we're a fairly quiet side compared to each of the other teams we've played this season. A couple of vocal leaders who can organise, remonstrate and lead by example wouldn't go amiss. We're playing some nice football, we often look promising and we have some decent players. We just need to cut out the silly mistakes and be more organised.
We're not as bad as this result makes us look, but we do need to upgrade what we've got in a couple of positions if we want to avoid more days like today.

With all copright of the writer, a quick report on the day from TheMortyVicker on the 'Kempster' forum....
"The last time I saw Bognor play in the FA Cup was in the 85/86 season when they were clattered 6-1 at Gillingham, and the result here should have been more severe. Yet at half time it was goalless with little to choose between the sides.
Bognor's philosophy was to play out from the back and for half an hour they looked assured. The home side then started to press much higher and Bognor's obsession with retaining possession in their own third resulted in their repeatedly losing possession in their own third. A half time Hayes reshuffle ushered in an early second half blitz which saw the home side score four times in 20 minutes and the result was completed by Donnelly's fifth, a speculative effort from at least 40 yards out."

Ignoring the crap in the post above from the village idiot, Heres my take on yesterday.
The first half started very slowly and Hayes were the better side. We then turned it round and had a good 20 minute period playing some good possession football but we were never a threat up front. We either couldn't get a decent cross in or didn't create any opportunity for Jordy. I will say this, I think had we scored during this period we would probably have gone on to win the game.
The second half was just one of the worst I can remember for a very long time from our side. It was disjointed, players were not doing the basics, we gave possession away continually in defensive danger areas and just did not show any enthusiasm or spirit. This after quite the opposite at Horsham on Tuesday night. After the game, I heard people saying players didnt care, not fit to wear the shirt. I dont agree with that. We did well in the 2nd half at South Park to come from 2-0 down. We should never have been losing a game at Stortford having gone 2-0 up, and we won a difficult game at Horsham. So to aim the calls that we don't care simply isnt true. During that 2nd half senior players let us down. Basic schoolboy errors were continually being made and there was no responsibility and leadership by the senior players. This affected the younger ones and we got thumped.
Its no good looking back, the damage was done yesterday. We have got to get back at it on Tuesday in a difficult game against Carshalton. They had a bad day yesterday as we did. They will be looking to make amends and so must we. We must cut out all this nonsense playing across and inside our own penalty area. I lost count in that second half of how many times we lost possession in those areas. Senior players have to stop arguing with each other and accept responsibility and encourage rather than dish out b..lockings to the younger lads. We must go out as a team and come back as a team otherwise this will turn out to be a long hard season. I know we have a group of players that were far better than that 2nd half and now we need to see them rectify what was wrong yesterday, this coming Tuesday night.
