Another dominant home performance today against a high flying opposition who knew every dirty trick in the book. Fortunately our young team are maturing with every game and there was no Halloween shock for the Rocks!!! First half was evenly balanced with neither side creating too many clear chances. Bognor started the 2nd half better but on 52 minutes Tooting got a disputed penalty. The big man Amadou was more than equal to the shot;and this brought an instant reaction from the Rocks. Brad had the ball in the net but was ruled out for a controversial offside. Minutes later Brad had the ball in the net again and this one counted!!!! Any chance of a recovery was easily dealt with by Joe Cook and Ethan Robb who both displayed skills well beyong their young ages. Super sub Alfie Lis almost scored with his first touch: but with his 3rd touch he sweetly struck home Bognors 2nd. Amadou made sure there aas no comeback with a smart late save and Bognor enter the draw for the next round on Monday!!

Much improved 2nd half display did the job. The penalty save was pivotal because at that point the game was fairly even. I assumed this was going to be the last game before lockdown but just heard this kicks in on Thursday. Does that mean Tuesday night is on?

Tuesday night's match at home to Burgess Hill Town is ON.
Don't forget that admission prices have been reduced to: Adults £8.00 Senior Citizens (over 65s) £6.00 Under 16s £3.00
It might be our last match for a while, so let's get a bumper crowd at The Lane and enjoy the occasion!

What a wonderful occasion that was! A very big thank you to the Rocks club officials and volunteer staff once again did a great job of organising our match day to allow fans to enjoy watching the game.
On the pitch we once again were treated to an entertaining and encouraging performance that highlighted how the Rocks are playing for each other and developing an understanding.
The back four and Amadou looked solid and I enjoyed watching them skilfully pass their way through the Tooting press. Harvey, Sam, Tommy and Ashton all worked hard for each other in the middle of the park and it was great to see them confidently deal with several situations following some questionable challenges. It didn't go unnoticed how maturely Harvey dealt with things without giving an inch or getting in trouble.
In attack Jordy Mongoy is benefitting from Bradley Lethbridge's gradual return to fitness, and along with our attacking midfielders they certainly gave plenty for the Tooting defence to think about.
My biggest pleasure from the game was seeing how much the team seemed to enjoy playing together and how much the crowd were enjoying watching the match and being with friends. Also a big shout out for our friends who travelled down from Tooting & Mitcham and provided plenty of vocal support throughout.
I'm already looking forward to playing Burgess Hill on Tuesday night and just hope that we can then restart things again in early December.

A great win yesterday made even better against a team that knew what they were doing with alot of players going down every time they were hardly touched and dirty off the ball tackles. Especially to Tommy leigh near the end. Great penalty save by tangara but one worry is in the last few games his distribution has been fairly poor and puts us in trouble at times hopefully he can work on this as everything else he does is brilliant. And I'm sure he will want to iron out the mistakes to. The prize money all helps the club and hopefully this lockdown won't last to long and we can get back to the lane again. The new stand behind the goal is going to look amazing once it's all completed. And really makes the ground look even more impressive.
