With the disappointment of the league not continuing for the foreseeable future the likely hood of the league finishing again I have been thinking how can we get some competitive football and stay safe. If we are to return it looks less and less likely we will have enough time to play all the remaining games. Therefore do we continue with just friendlies till next season. Personally I can't really motivate myself for that and I feel we will only get small crowds. Therefore I tried to think of an alternative to and play some sort of competitive games. As it stands there are 11 Sussex clubs involved in the Isthmian leagues. As Sussex is in tier 2 my idea would be perhaps for one season only why not approach the Sussex FA to see if we could create a Sussex senior league? That would involve each club playing 20 games. If we were to get back to playing by the end of February that would involve only 10 weeks of play if we played 2 games a week!! Just a thought of how to get competitive football, and with the likes of Hastings, Whitehawk, East Grinstead, Chichester, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Three Bridges joining the 4 Premier league sides it has all the making a fairly competitive option. Thoughts people!!

Idea sounds good dave but Hastings are an automatic issue being in tier 3 and I suspect unlikely to be lowered anytime soon.therefore their proximity to Eastbourne then puts them at risk, and although not isthmian i can see the problems moving along the coast towards Brighton.i can't see any real option for competitive football anytime soon unfortunately and possibly for this season.another knock on effect I think could be how hard u will find fundraising next season when all the companies this year haven't had their exposure as expected including the shirt sponsors.hope im just being pessimistic but gut says not
