There will be many on this Forum (mostly old gits like me), who will know and remember Ron Turner, who sadly died in a Nursing Home yesterday. Ron was a former Rocks Chairman and lifelong supporter. I believe he may have even played for the Team many years ago. I visited him a week or so ago and he was in good spirits at the time, which is how I want to remember him. Even when in the Nursing Home, I used to take him Match Reports, (thanks for those Steve and others), which gave him great enjoyment. RIP Ron. Re-united with Pat.

Ron was a real nice guy who always had time for a chat when he came in via the far gate. RIP Ron.

Very sad news to hear at this awful time. I only got to know Ron in his latter years well after his time being heavily involved with the club. I had heard of his input and met him on many occasions when he came down to the Lane to continue watching matches. Very informative and always pleased to see the club continue to develope. His last visits were in a wheelchair having been let out for the afternoon. He will be very much missed by all at the club. RIP Ron, see you at the far post.

Sad news indeed. He was friends with my Parents and I would see and speak to him on the way to and from School when he ran a Supermarket on the Parade in North Bersted.

Some lovely memories and comments Dave, Pete and Australian Rock. Ron was green and white through and through. Thank you for taking the trouble to to respond. It's unlikely any of us will be in the 15 allowed at the funeral, but if there's a memorial service arranged for when times are safer, I'll post the details on here. COYR.
