Wheres the village idiot? Depends which ones you are talking about. The young fans who were still in their nappies outside the ground that were looking for a fight or the 20 odd fans at the station that were looking for a fight? Some of the Worthing fans/ so called fans are an embarrasement to their club !!!

Listening to Rocks Radio, it sounded like a bottle was thrown at one of the Rocks players near the end of the game........says it all if that is the case!

Lets get to the game. Good crowd and atmosphere. Credit to both sets of fans for that. Worthing had the better of the first half but rarely looked like scoring. Long range shots were never going to beat Amadou. On the counter we looked lively against a very slow home defence. 2nd half except for one opportunity, when Worthing tried to walk the ball into the goal our makeshift defence were easily in control of their forwards. Going forward we looked dangerous, closing down high up the field with Jordy, Kane and Nathan working their socks off. Ashton scored the first with a superb goal shooting across the keepe. The 2nd soon followed with a brilliant move down the right and the cross being put away by Kane. The whole squad were superb today, the starting XI and the subs. It was great to see that the players realised what this meant to the fans today with regarding bragging rights and put in a proper shift. Hopefully this can kick start our season. This will hopefully shut the village idiot Heljag and Keithsson up for a while🤣🤣😊😊😊 A happy Rock tonight

Funny old game? Luck plays such a big part. With the unfortunate injuries we picked up Saturday today’s team was far better balanced with no square pegs in round holes. Calvin is arguably the best right back I’ve seen at the club so why we keep switching him to the left I’ve no idea. Moving on this was exactly what we needed. The first time we’d taken the lead all season & the players grew in confidence from that.

Mind you I doubt if you can count past 5,6 or even 7 so there is no chance of you being able to count the amount or even recognise the Bognor fans. You've just had your arse kicked in your own backyard so do us all a favour poodle off and sulk on your own!!

Let's stop the delusions of grandeur and get in the real world.......! Think people forget not all fans stand behind the goal. I’ll happily say if we only took 450 if we want to play it that way. That’s still bloody superb. Up The Rocks.

Jakes preferred position is right back. When Joe Hancott got injured Calvin slotted in. Both Calvin and Jake can and will play as wing backs so that covers many eventualities.

Excellent performance all round yesterday. Everyone worked extremely hard. The 3 lads up front worked their socks off closing down a very slow and ponderous defence. We got lucky at times, but that makes a change, we usually only get bad luck. Ashton took his goal superbly and to my mind was man of the match. Covered every blade of plastic. As for what City Boy said about their young supporters, I am not surprised. The last few times we have played Worthing, they appear to have attracted a gang of really obnoxious young fans. Let's hope they can sort it out. The vast majority of Worthing fans are really nice, decent people. On the way out yesterday a number commented on how we had given them a tactical master class. At least some supporters see things with more than one eye, unlike some of the people we get on this forum! At least 500 Rocks fans yesterday. We don't all go behind the goal.

Agree with everything above will give everyone a huge confidence boost particularly the younger players, guess it shows what can be achieved with maximum effort from the whole team.

A wonderful day out and a great advert for Sussex football. Both clubs can be proud of how they have improved their facilities in recent years. Worthing certainly created plenty of chances but the reason they didn't put any chances away was because of how well The Rocks defended and fought for every ball as a collective.
After such a good team performance it feels wrong to mention individual players, but I will. I thought Joe Dandy and Ethan Robb were absolutely brilliant at the back, along with Amadou behind them. They were throwing their bodies all over the place to defend our goal. It was almost as if their lives depended on it.
Worthing are a very strong side and I wouldn't be surprised if that is the only league game they lose at home this season.
With Craig Robson, Jake Flanagan and Joe Cook all soon available it will be interesting to see if we can produce more of the same. If so, we won't be far from the play-offs.
A memorable day, made even better by the brilliant Rocks supporters.

I have to say, even 2 day's on, I am still absolutely buzzing. I think both sides played well and in the spirit of the game. What pleased me was the response from Saturday's result against Haringey, & then even then we could have nicked a 2-2 draw if the penalty was converted. But onto Monday, missing key players with Flanagan, Cook & Robson, who would surely get into the 1st team if all fully fit, and we put in such a shift. All 11 players and it is hard to pick MOM as I thought it was a collective effort. Both goal's superb and great finishes. Kayne for me is looking a great prospect and has to start I think, and Ashton, what a goal so well worked. This can hopefully kick start our season. Hayes and Yeading and then Carshalton next. Both tough games, but we need a good cup run which would bring the money in and then Carshalton are going to be amongst the play offs 2, but on our day we can give anyone a game in this league. Let's just keep our head's down, go about our business and crack on Come On You Rocks

An absolutely stunning end to the Bank Holiday indeed. I can't wait for the rematch on 27 December 2021.... I wonder how many Worthing supporters will make the trip to the Nye Camp?!
