Back into football mode today as cricket is over. And what a cracker of a game against high flying, and highly fancied Carshalton. Game started off at a fair old pace with both sides testing each other out. Neither side gave an inch, the Bognor team worked for each other but neither side looked capable of beating the highly impressive keepers. It always looked like it would take something special to break the ice, and what a goal it was!!! A well worked corner saw Craig Robson roof a half volley from 25yards, oh happy days. Play was evenly contested by both teams. The keepers were well tested, but neither side looked scoring further. It may not have been a classic but was a really hard working performance. Settled by something special. A magnificent crowd of 802 the biggest in the league giving plenty of vocal support. There really is a real good feeling around the club at the moment. Onto Tuesday night and hopefully more points against old rivals Horsham. COYR's!!!!

initial thoughts. One of the Rocks best performances I have seen against a very good, hard and streetwise team. I don't know who was voted MOTM but for me it was Amadou - perfect goalkeeping - 3 or 4 rescues from potential goal scoring situations, including a couple of magnificent saves and one diving at the feet of the oncoming player and getting the ball without fouling him. There is not doubt the team are getting better and better. All the guys played flat out , so very well done - also some skill cameos from Gavin when he came on. A cool, well taken goal from Craig and let's all hope his hamstring is not serious. Finally, If I was the ref, I would yellow card all the players who gather round trying to influence after a foul, as Carshalton did- it has become disgraceful.

Just about covered everything there Dave. The only thing I would add is something I pointed out after the last home game about playing Calvin at left back & Jake at right back. I questioned square pegs in round holes. What I loved today was Calvin in his correct position, Craney back to his best at left back & I thought Jake was man of the match in midfield. He bossed it. We looked so much better balanced. Also a mention for Amadou & the whole defence. Some important saves & some great blocks.

Good day in the office. As mentioned not always pretty to the eye but it’s another clean sheet, our first 3 points at home and lovely sized crowd at the Lane. Like most teams we always look better defensively once we’ve gone one nil up,as we don’t seem to play so high up the pitch. Robson goal was superb, something that was mentioned when he came back we should be seeing more off hopefully.
Anyway happy Rocks fan this weekend. 💚

So optimistic after a very hard earned victory. Undoubtedly a match we would have lost in the past. Just wonder if anyone knows the condition of the poor chap who collapsed at the Seasons end of the ground. Hopefully he is better than it first looked.
