I said in a thread earlier, someone was going to get it and today its happened. I listened to the two lads doing the commentary, and that was some second half. I dont know exactly what the stats were but we had shot after shot. 5 goals without reply in those conditions away from home is good in any book.it sounded like a great team effort. Big applause to the 50 plus away support going all that way in extreme weather, you were rewarded without doubt.

Been saying it for weeks, somebody was due a thrashing and today Brightlingsea got it. Superb performance in atrocious conditions.Could easily have been 8 or 9 with that 2nd half show. Lets hope we repeat this on Tuesday and we build on this. A long journey for the 50+ fans but full credit to everyone who were rewarded a 5 star show!!! Happy travels πππ

Donβt always agree with Pete and city boy but hats off you both got it right. Well done to the lads and for those 50 supporters you deserved to see it given the weather today. Well done to everyone!!

I, on the other hand, always agree with Pete and City Boy even when I think differently. They were dead right with their predictions and I am looking forward to who they think will win The Grand National. Well done, Ashton, not bad for someone who joined the Rocks as a left back. And, as someone has said before, I reckon Nathan will become a pretty formidable goal scorer who has the eye for close-in goals. Excellent win in rotten conditions. Roll on the petrol boys on Tuesday.

A regal display by Regis at Regent.
Never been to Brightlingsea before, and I liked it. A quirky ground wth seven separate covered areas, most in the club's red and black livery, a large clubhouse with local ales, and a nice bunch of friendly folk. The only downside was the portion of admittedly edible chips which were greyish in hue and contained 'eyes' and skin you'd be hard to find at another ground.
Both teams acquitted themselves well in driving rain throughout the game - it got worse on the journey home (I aquaplaned four times on the way back) and had the game kicked off an hour or two later it would have been abandoned. As it was, Rocks carved out a handful of decent chances before Ashton gave us a 21st minute lead. We were fluid and enjoyable to watch, but the single goal margin meant Regent, who'd had some chances themsleves, were still in it at half time.
The second half display can only be described as majestic. From the off the lads ploughed down both wings, and once Ashton got our second you sensed we'd get more. Time and again we opened up the defence down the sides like a tin of sardines, pinging in crosses from near the byline, and we could have scored eight or nine. The lads only took their foot off the pedal after the fifth with less than ten minutes left and Regent had a couple of good chances for a consolation goal.
All our lads looked comfy on the ball, and the movement going forward was a joy for the travelling Rocks fans who made up at least a quarter of the crowd. I remember in the 80's someone worked out that an anagram of Bognor Regis Town was Wingers Born To Go. The anagram's back in fully working order.

good report Rattler.
The most important aspect today was that we kept a clean sheet, cut out the defensive mistakes and looked totally assured and in control of the game. As soon as we scored the first goal through great play between Jake and Ashton, the whole team then grew in confidence and pushed on to dominate the game. Our quick passing play led to chance after chance and fully deserved the 5 nil win. Every player played their part and the front three linked up well to cut open the home defence time and time again. The last time we played at this ground, the team didn't turn up and we got turned over 3-0 on a bleak tuesday night so we owed them big time this time around, and sure enough we got out revenge today. As stated it was played in atrocious conditions and the rain just didn't stop at all day. Just got to take this performance into the game on Tuesday in the fuel-gate derby! COYR

Great to see it finally click. I do think itβs one the most likeable Rocks squad weβve had in years. The club is pulling in the right direction on and off the pitch, little old Bognor-keep doing your thing.
