Quite right, too. Well said, JP. But as I said in another post, what about the 2 yellows shown to Amadou and Harrison who received them as a result of complaining to the ref at the time about his error - if they contribute to 5 yellows and a one match ban, that is not right. If I had made such a simple fundamental error when I was a referee, I would have handed my whistle in!

The FA are aware of everything.

A good job we held on. But if you had a rematch every time there was a dodgy decision, the football season would never finish.

There are decisions of judgement which one can argue about and decisions of fact. This was not a "dodgy" decision; it was a decision due to an error of fact.

kof - I can see your point but to play devil's advocate, they have been correctly booked for dissent - even if they were complaining about a clearly wrong decision. You're not going to get those lifted, I would not think. Also, I happen to think that if the Rocks had asked for a rematch they'd have been out of luck! Happily, anyway, t was not needed.

Jordy Mongoys yellow card will stand and the red card rescinded.

steve - I take your point and I agree with your thoughts. I am also grateful the referee did not decide the final score was 1-0 instead of 0-1. That could have led to many more being penalised for dissent. Still, as the saying goes, "if you can't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined".
