On this day in 1984, that 1-1 draw away to Swansea in the FA Cup. A memorable afternoon for various reasons!
Of that FA Cup run in 1984, one thing I have noticed is that of all the away matches - Basingstoke (replay), Wokingham, Epsom & Ewell, Swansea and Reading - none of those grounds exist anymore with the exception of Basingstoke’s Camrose Ground which currently lies derelict with Basingstoke currently playing home matches at nearby Winklebury. They still have a big fight on their hands but hopefully they’ll eventually be able to return to the Camrose.
Doesn’t seem like 37 years ago!

Agreed statto. It's amazing to think that anyone you see down at the Lane under the age of 37 wasn't even born at the time of that giant killing act.
As time goes on, of course, fewer and fewer supporters and people associated with the club will remember that autumn Wednesday evening when footballing history was made. I was looking through the following day's copy of the Evening Argus just recently. Makes interesting reading.
