Terrible start - 2-0 down inside first 12 minutes before Chalaye soon pulls one back, before Nathan netted the equaliser from the spot early in the second half. Despite late pressure on the Lewes goal, it went to penalties and Rocks converted all four taken, with Toby twice saving the third Lewes kick (ordered to be retaken) before saving the fourth to send Rocks through. Well done lads, great fight back from the early setback and of course well done Toby. Next round is weekend of Saturday 17 December (Hornchurch league match away on this date will now move)

What a magnificent performance in the 2nd half that was.we could easily have won it in normal time despite toby having to make 3 or 4 great saves at vital times.after a disastrous first 15mins,Tom's well taken goal changed the whole complexion and feel of the game.their keeper was however largely untroubled throughout as we pressed and narrowly missed the target on numerous occasions.the penalties from us were all converted with relative comfort leaving toby to rightly earn the credit as he saved 3 even if 1 was retaken for being off his line.a superb following from the fans who appeared to make a lot of noise throughout.i hope that level came across both to the players and the radio listeners.onto the draw on Monday where a nice home draw for a change would be good before it's back to the bread and butter of the league and bowers on Tuesday.great day all round today.COYR

A dreadful start conceeding two, but we know our lads, we are used to it. Same as at Weston, conceeding early, but only once. Today twice, then the usual fight back. God, dont we know how to do that? Evens at full time after battling back, again. Step up and win the shoot out. Epic. Well done lads and on to the third round!

A big thank you for the superb travelling support today. Despite the disappointing start to the match your support didnât waver and several of the players commentated on this after the match and said how much it meant to them. They also said how much they appreciated the noise and support during the penalty shoot-out and felt that this was a real contributing factor in their success.
Well done everyone today!

Echo the above about the support yesterday. We do make hard work for ourselves after yet again a dreadful start. Once Tom got a goal back we looked the more prominent side and most likely to score as Lewes were restricted to break away's. On those occaisions Toby put recent performances behind himself and excelled. Onto penalties great effort by everyone and into Monday's draw we went. Would love a home draw for a change. Still the belief is there so nobody to fearđđ. Lets hope we can build on this result and take it into our league campaign. With 4 home games on the bounce we have a real chance to push ourselves up the table. COYR's !!

Terrific win by Rocks. It would be great to draw a National League side in the next round.
I though Statto you might have popped down to see ex Tractor Boy Brett Pitman in action at Nyetimber Lane for AFC Portchester.
The league leaders won 3-1 although a fit looking Pitman wasn't able to add to his 28 goal season tally. The Lions put up a good fight but we're outclassed in the end.

The whole side showed incredible character yesterday. To come back from such a self destructive start, shows a togetherness and desire in the whole squad. The quality of our first goal was as good as I have seen all season. An exquisite scooped ball from Robbo to a galloping Craney, who put in an excellent low cross to Tom Chalaye whose control, turn and shot were top class. Fantastic football. We then took control of the second half and perhaps were a little unlucky not to turn possession into goals. I can't comment about the pen as I was queuing for coffee at the time, although opinion around me was that it looked soft. I hate penalty shootouts, however I have to say that the players who took our penalties were all brilliant. Toby Steward who made some amazing saves during the game, rightfully cemented his man of the match status with 2 fine saves. Amazing to think he is still only 17 years old. So onwards and upwards to the next round. Let's hope for a home draw. One other comment to make and that is what an improved pitch there is at the Dripping Pan. It suited us down to the ground.

Terrible 12 minutes from us to be 2-0 and I wonât lie I texted my mates and was like âthis is shiteâ
But credit where itâs due we got going. Isaac unfortunately for him in the first half felt whatver he tried to do wasnât quite going the way he wanted, but second half was a totally different player. What I like about this squad, they are in it for each other. No egoâs. Toby will rightly get the plaudits but all over everybody played their part, especially Brad coming on for penalties and scoring a beautiful one.
Fantastic following. Obviously itâs not always that easy getting everyone to games, but these next 4 home games and hopefully a decent trophy tie can help generate even more to come home and away games. A fantastic amount of âyouth/youngerâ fans in attendance.
Up The Rocks.

Great to hear. We do try to organise/generate newer younger/older fans and things like an Fa trophy run does create a buzz especially with a Sussex derby penalty shout win. Itâs now to try and keep them intrested. Brilliant day all round. 3 points tomorrow would be lovely.
