Nice to get back to Nyewood Lane after just over a year due to family / work circumstances getting in the way and nothing the club had done wrong. Good to catch up with a number of always friendly faces, shame traffic got me there much later than expected thus stopping me from seeking out at least a couple of mates I'd intended to have a chat with.
As for the game, first half peppered with lovely slick play, second half some more of the same but a bit disjointed, and a few more speculative pops at goal would have been preferred.
Clinical finishes from Nathan six before the break and Sam a quarter hour from the end, but we let B&P score an admittedly harsh 'one of those new handball laws' penalties in the 80th to make the scoreline closer than it should have been. The midfield and defence, mostly through positional play and sometimes through luck, snuffed out many of B&P's intended through balls to forwards, and the visitors scored from almost their only shot on goal. As for our lads, some lovely passing moves there. Plenty to enjoy though slightly peeved at just a one goal win - but a win it was.
Well worth the overall four-hour trip (should have been about 50 minutes less but one of those nights on the road). Oh, and that hot dog was fantastic! Oh, and yes, I was next to Ken when he let off his mini air-raid siren in the second half. I'm glad someone's taken over my 'noisy' crown!

According to the Isthmian league only 372 turned up I guess not many from B&P turned up on a Tuesday night (work tomorrow who knows). Or perhaps watching the World Cup or watching the crappy'The Wheel' with that Michael git. So roll on Friday c'mon England!!!!

It's a long way from deepest Essex to Bognor on a regular Tuesday, let alone during (cough) a World Cup. There were probably a dozen B&P fans behind the goal they were attacking in the second half.

From back to front our workrate was excellent. Never gave B&P any opportunities really. Some great passing moves, my only thought was we just didn’t put enough balls into the box and could see Nathan and Pato’s frustration at times.
Another great result, onwards and upwards 👍

Yes, attendance was a worry. Thanks to those who choose to come out on a cold night instead of watching footie on TV. Unfortunately, we could have expected maybe double that in 'normal' times, but with this other 'thing' going on in the middle east, it is going to hit clubs hard in the pocket when people have the choice. This is the penalty all clubs are having to pay because of FIFAs madness. It could even get worse given that the lunatic in charge has suggested he would accept a World Cup in North Korea!. Christ, who votes these people in?
