Next up at the Lane is Cray Wanderers on Wednesday evening. This is the 4th time the 2 clubs have met this season. Bognor drew 2.2 up at Bromley back in August, coming from 2.0 and earning the point with 2nd half goals from Natham Odonkonyero. Then in September the 2 clubs played in the 1st round of the FA Cup. Again the team came from behind to draw 2.2 at the Lane. Nathan amongst the goals again. In the replay up at Bromley Bognor produced one of their best performances of their season winning 4.0. Nathan again took a fancy to the opposition scoring a serious contender for goal of the season. With a 2.2 draw away, and a 2.3 home defeat there is always goals between the 2 clubs. The Wands come into the game on the back of 1.0 away victory at Kingstonian on Saturday and at present sit in 9th place in the form table. Kick off 7.45 lets get down the lane behind the team.

Another frustrating home game. It was a game that in general we dictated. However yet again missed chances, poor mistakes and bad officiating cost the team. First half we dictated and lead and half time withna good strike by Cameron Black. 2nd half we failed to put Cray to bed and they equalised on the counter. Bognor went straight to the other end and Dan Gifford regained the lead for the Rocks. Then a series of errors, and a dropped ball by Toby gave Cray a penalty from which they equalised. Bognor thought they had won the game when a shot hit the underneath of the bar and bounced over the line( the photographer has a picture showing it well over the line). However the linesman for not the first time was not up with the play and never gave a goal. Towards the end Cray almost stole the game, but for a superb save by Toby. A draw at the final whistle but more points dropped in a game Bognor really should have won!!! Hopefully we might change our ways on Saturday at Folkestone.

I thought we were very very fortunate to go in at half time in the lead, Cray missing six or seven very good chances especially the forward falling over the ball on the goal line!
Second half defensive errors cost us and but once we had taken the lead for the second time we should have gone on to get all three points.
We cannot single out players as we are a very very young squad they are still learning. Need a couple more ‘seasoned’ players in the squad just to give us a better balance, these kids are up against some very experienced players.
