Did anyone else think that the journey to the ground was easier than going to an Essex based club? Have to say that I was taken aback by the price of food there, £6.50 for a hot dog was outrageous.... but not as outrageous as the way our team performed. What's up? Is it our players or the managers? Why is Dan being played so far back? Getting to the point where I'm not travelling to away matches anymore based on that performance..... (and don't blame the ref for the third goal, we'd already lost by that point).

Food was very expensive 9.50 for chile/curry in chips, nice but not worth the price and they really struggled to meet demand with long queues!
We had one good pass in the game, Nath scored, for the next 80 minutes Nath and Pato got absolutely nothing, you can feel their frustration. Midfield didn’t turn up, and defensively the same old mistakes cost us. Cameron was lucky he wasn’t sent off in the first half so not really surprised he was in the second.
It’s all about confidence and we are sadly lacking at the moment, a couple of wins and that could all change.

Taken a while to get over the disappointment of yesterday both at club and country level. As for Folkestone, nice food but expensive as pointed out. Think most of our team didn't arrive for the early kick off. First 5 /10 minutes we were ok. Scored a good goal and hopes were raised. After that dreadful is probably paying us a compliment. Too many misplaced passes, reckless tackles and continual giving of the ball away. End result was we got what we deserved. Forget the 3rd goal which was a dreadful reffing error we were well beaten. As for the red card that was always likely to happen. A day to forget just like the England game later. All in all enough to really p*ss you off with football. However we go again next week and just hope our luck will change soon, or we get into some sort of form.

City boy.... If we lose the next few games or even draw, it's not any where near where the fans have been promised. I'm for bringing Michael Birmingham in and moving Jamie to the academy .. I'm not really seeing a roll for Robbie... Any comments?

Fyfe1 unfortunately I am not privy to the thinking of the hierarchy of our club. As for my thoughts. I think Robbie is working tirelessly for the club and am hopeful he will get it right. Regarding Birmy my views have been well documented in the past. I was hoping he was going to come in last season and I believe he and Robbie could have worked, and the team may have benifitted from the passion. Jamie I feel is a very shrewd person and good coach. I am sure when / if we get our own academy he will be the main man and will be excellent at the job as he has developed a well documented relationship with youngsters over the years with his allstars. At the moment we just need a little bit of luck and get fully behind the team for the 2nd half of the season

Can’t comment on this game as I was working. However as I’ve said before, this season has been incredibly frustrating. Have been excellent in glimpses. Then awful in the same game. I stand by what I’ve said that on paper this is the best squad we’ve had since promotion but half the time I’ve no idea what formation we are playing. We still need that specialist central midfielder. We’ve now got what we’ve needed since Jason,in a striker who holds the ball up & wins flick ons but there’s never anyone near him to work off him. Unfortunately we have three main faults. We make daft mistakes at the back. We rarely win the midfield battle. And our final ball & finishing is poor. Unless we sort those out we’ll be looking down rather than up.

Have to agree with all the above, it’s been a very disappointing season so far given the expectations. The recent run of results alongside the impending weather will almost certainly impact attendances which directly effects the club finances - don’t need to be mastermind to make to leap that next season might also be impacted by lower attendances.
Appears we are crying out for some characters, leaders out on the pitch, look a little soft, naive - Robbo, Harv, Craney have to be starting to add some experience (appreciate injuries etc) can limit this. We are a young squad but that’s the squad Robbie has put together, so buck stops there for me. Interviews after the game are the same week-in / week-out, keep hearing the “if you wanna play for this club” comment - what does that mean? make the same poor decisions next week, team won’t change.
Fyfe1 makes an interesting point about replacements and M.Birmingham, Horndean appear to be flying and not leaking many goals, only 8, so far this season, appreciate it’s a decent step-up but I’d prefer to keep Jamie involved with the first team and academy (down the line). Personally wouldn’t make the change now or in the next few weeks Robbie needs time need to turn around but pressure is growing.
Rant over, cup run will sort everything…COYR!

As a fan I’ve never liked the formation we play,as I also don’t think it suits the players we have. I also hate our national team use it. Personally feel it leaves players isolated especially upfront. Would love us to go two up top,we have a prior type forward in Patterson but when he flicks on or holds up,9 times outta 10 there’s no support.
Love or hate Jack what he was good at in interviews he turnt the interview away from the players and about him making a silly comment that got the fans back up. At some point Robbie/Jamie need to hold their hands up and be like “hang on” we got today wrong. Cos let’s be honest Folkestone are crap this season, and have tonked us. Normally we go there and lose by the odd goal after putting on a show.
Worryingly lose the next two,and our season is pretty much done by Xmas day, unless we go on a magical run in the new year. It’s hard to build up/getting crowds higher when we are where we are. Are we not giving enough credit to those we play, and we over hype how good we actually are? Two Sussex derbies to come in the league and won’t be easy that’s for sure..

Spot on Adam. England have one of the best strikers in our history & no one crosses or gives him the ball. It’s madness. Same at Bognor. If Harry Kane is struggling in that formation what chance have part time players got. We’ve always looked better with a pair of strikers up the middle & a 4-4-2 or a variation of it. Look at our squad. That’s a top 6 squad. With the formation we play there’s huge gaps everywhere on the pitch. When I say formation however half the time I’ve no idea what it is.
