Well done to the club today in seeing sense and canceling the game at 9am this morning. The amount of clubs I'm seeing on twitter who have had wasted journeys and games called off an hour before kick off is embarrassing after saying it's all good and the games on this morning. Havant traveled all the way to Dover and then called off when everyone was already there and Lewes making a late call at home to call it off so brightlingsea had a wasted trip.

Thank you. We have had the same treatment over the years having travelled for nothing. There are circumstances that are out of anyones control, but in cases of frozen pitches such as was the case today, it makes common sense to make an early call.

I have to agree fish and chips. As much as we all want football to go ahead and financially it’s better to play on a Saturday, but keeping a good relationship with others in our league and both sets of fans on not needing to make a wasted trip. Just shows even with that new pitch at Lewes it’s not a miracle pitch 😅

Echo the above comments. I stopped at the Wisley service station northbound on the A3 yesterday morning and bumped into a load of Havant players en route to Dover, including JP9 and had quite a chat with them, mentioning that our game was called off first thing in the morning. Unfortunately for Havant it turned out to be a wasted journey and quite rightly they are very unhappy about it.

And now we see Chelsea v Liverpool ladies abandoned after 6 minutes no thought to either the home or travelling supporters but I bet they still get the TV money! Well done to Peter and the team for getting to the sensible and correct decision early- pity others don’t think the same way as Bognor did. Sometimes it’s not about the money!
