Bognor go into their first home league game of the new year on the back of 2 back to back victories. The opposition have played 5 games this year so far winning 2; drawing 2 and losing just the 1. At present the R's lie in 20th position in the league and are in the relegation places. Therefore this is a vitally important game to both teams as Bognor want to build on last weeks performances and avoid being dragged into the relegation battle. Brightlingsea are desperate for points to continue a move up the league. Pato will hopefully have recovered from his niggle he picked up against Eastbourne. Calvin Davies and Tom Chalaye continue with their recovery; whilst it seems certain that Sam McCloud will be out for a long time. Therefore manager Robbie Blake should have a full squad to select from within the remaining players. Hopefully with the lack of live football recently; and on the back of recent games there will be a decent crowd at the lane to get behind the team.

Didn’t make the Eastbourne game so really looking forward to this one. Performance at Casuals was excellent and obviously scoring six midweek puts the lads on a high 👍

Definately a game of 2 halfs. Brightlingsea started quickly; put Bognor under pressure and pressed high. Bognor had no answer to their style and you could see that they had played a lot more competitive football than rocks in January. They took the lead on 21 minutes when a good inswinging corner was bundled in. Cahill made a couple of fine saves to keep the score 1.0 Bognor battled to get back into the game, then on 44 minutes a dubious offside position caught Bognor out and 2.0 down. Fortunately the game probably changed in injury time when Alfie Bridgman floated a superb shot in; a goal which I feel changed the pattern of the game. 2nd half Bognor came out fighting; Dan Gifford scored an equaliser. Continual pressure paid dividends as Brightlingsea tired. Goals by Nathan Odonkonyero and Bridgman again gave Bognor an emphatic victory. With a little more luck the score could have been even greater. Bognor now go into Tuesday nights game with top of the table Bishops Stortford on the back of 3 victories in a week; and 12 goals scored. However we have to avoid giving away the early goal as we cannot always guarantee we will get the goals back. However with the confidence now shining through we have no reason to fear Stortford. Onwards and upwards COYR's !!

Really poor first half where we were chasing shadows for 44 minutes! Up steps Alfie with a wonderful strike to get us back in the game, it’s that goal that gave us the belief - without it I don’t believe we could have won the game!
Second half was a revelation with Regent chasing shadows, what a capitulation, they just couldn’t keep up with our passing game😊 Alfie again putting them to the sword.
Fantastic result superb three wins in a row. Good to see Calvin on the bench and good news that Paterson should be fit for midweek 👍

Totally agree Ronnie let's hope we don't start on Tuesday in the same way but carry the 2nd half performance into it. Certainly didn't see such a complete turnaround coming & although Alfie was starved of possession in the first half when he did get the chance scored an excellent goal to set up the recovery.

One thing that hasnt been mentioned yet although a pist above touched on it. I believe we look much fitter than we did earlier on this season. We didntvstart the game well and struggled for most of the half, but Alfies goal right on half time changed the whole senario. Firstly it gave us the chance to turn it round in the next 45 minutes, but we went straight out on the front foot. They couldnt cope with it. You could see they started to blow and we looked so sparky. David Birmingham has really got us looking much fitter and it is no accident that we have looked so good since the freeze. Lets hope we can continue on Tuesday.
