Monday night sees Bognor back on the road as they travel to Carshalton. Bognor are on a bit of a run in recent games which has seen them unbeaten in the last 6; and scoring 20 goals in the process. This run has seen Bognor go up the league to 14th place; while Carshalton are on a bit of a slump in comparison having lost 5 of their last 9. This form in contrast has seen them slip out of the play off places into 9th place. In the form guide Bognor sit in 5th place Carshalton 17th. Last season Bognor did the double over the hosts winning both games 1.0. In the September game at the Lane Bognor came from 3.1 down to salvage a point thanks to 2 goals from Nathan Odonkonyero. For those making their way to the War Memorial Ground for the game can get discount on their tickets if they buy their tickets online. Let's hope the recent good form continues COYR's

Well all good things have to come to an end. After the last few weeks a really disppointing game where the hosts wanted it more than Bognor. Their long high ball forward on a bouncy pitch kept Bognor under pressure. Only a missed penalty meant it was 0.0 at half time. A screamer by Joe Rabbets gave Bognor the lead. After that it was all downhill as we conceeded 2 in 6 minutes. A really disappointing performance infront of a good Bognor following. We go again Saturday when we look to start another run with a win against Kingstonian

An uneventful first half for us, outmuscled by a sturdy home side who laughably missed a penalty just before the break with a daisy cutter skewed low and four feet wide. Admittedly, Killian made two very good saves in the first half and we tried hard without much end product. Up to early in the second half the decent value £5 steak and onion baguette pre-match had been the highlight of the evening.
Joe pulled the Rabbetts out of the hat (sorry) with a 20 yard screamer soon after the restart and for the next 20 minutes we were well on top without getting the much needed second.
All of a sudden, a right wing cross to the far post and a superb low volley into the opposite corner for 1-1, we lost our mojo and composure and six minutes later we allowed Carshalton to score again 13 minutes from time. We probably did enough to deserve a draw but these things happen.
Hopefully our lads will get back the "Che Pearce" flag which some bastard appears to have stolen.

Sadly true, stolen flag and no drums allowed, or stewards evidently.

Non descriptive first half where neither side really created much. They missed a penalty and we struggled to create anything. Second half lit up by a wonder striker by Rabbets which should have given us the foundation to go on and win. Instead we sat back and allowed Carshalton to dominate and two very, very soft goals.
Didn’t get our substitutions, especially taking off Walter and then Sam, our battling midfield disappeared and we were lucky to only lose two. We lacked height against a very strong and tall home side and looked tired imho.
A great chance missed, it’s been a great run, time to start another one on Saturday 😊 support was amazing!!

An absolute cracker of a goal by Joe Rabetts was surrounded by a mediocre match. I put it down to the pitch. It reminded me of the QPR artificial pitch of days gone by. The ball bounced around like a jumping jack and both sides found it almost impossible to control it. Would hate to play on that all the time.

It was a poor quality game mainly due to the pitch which prevented both sides being able to play to a respectable standard with the bounce especially being ridiculous.it was however livened up by a penalty miss just before half time where I think the taker mustve been aiming for the corner flag rather than the corner of the net, followed shortly after half time by a worldie from Joe rabbetts that bent like a boomerang.after going ahead we took control to a certain extent leaving them to resorting to desperate efforts from distance.the game appeared to slip away from us after Walter was replaced by briffa in what seemed a very negative change where we appeared to try and protect our lead by bringing off arguably our best player and going more defensive.we were undone within minutes by a quality finish albeit unmarked striker at far post allowedconvert on the volley.moments later we fell behind to a really poor goal from a set piece.once behind we never really looked like finding an equaliser.overall on the night the better side won which doesn't say a lot but maybe we been spoilt over last few games and expected too much.onto saturday now and a real opportunity to start a new unbeaten run.the pitch at least will suit us better.COYR

I didn't go but it must have been hard on the players to fully recover from Saturday's exertions with only one full day in between. Prima donas in the premiership complain if they have three or four days between games. I'm going to be optimistic & hope they will be back in top form for Saturday.

If the pitch was mediocre, Carshalton's shirts were unspeakably dreadful. A stupid white "Spiderman" effect over the left halves which not only looked like a four-year-old had designed them, the 'pattern' make it impossible to make out some of the players' numbers!

True although the same for Carshalton as well, who played Saturday also. I remember when the Rocks used to play their midweek home games on a Monday. Reverted to Tuesday once Sky Sports introduced live matches on Mondays.

Interesting point statto although they had both games at home which helps when taking into account travelling etc.

We even played a prestigious FA Cup first round replay against Slough Town on a Monday. We lost.
