What a great occasion that was for the Rocks. Very creditable performance against a pro side who could bring on a whole new team at HT. Much promise in the Rocks squad, I'd say. And a huge crowd that will swell coffers. Here is a link to pictures by Tommy, Trevor and Lyn and within the wording of that there is a link to the match report that also contains the video interview with Robbie after the game... www.sussexexpress.co.uk/sport/football/33-pictures-as-pompey-are-held-by-bognor-regis-town-4215573

after the win against lower league Horndean on Saturday, this game gave our new players the chance to test themselves against an exceptionally strong Portsmouth team. A superb pitch and a crowd larger than we have seen for a long time welcomed the fans back to Nyewood Lane under the light, and every Rocks fan ,ust have gone home happy and optimistic that if they can keep that form then we could be in for a good season this year.
The first half saw an end to end game with chances for both teams and Bognor. Lukas Pattenden and Jasper Mahon went close, whilst Pompey had a shot hit the inside of the post and bounce back into the keepers hands. In defence Douglas and Robson looked solid with some timely tackles and debut lad Jude Mason looked confident at left back. Sam De St Croix seemed to continue as he finished last season, whilst Calvin was his normal tenacious self. 2nd half Portsmouth made 11 changes. Consequently they had the early play making Ryan Hall in the Bognor goal make 2 superb saves. Bognor grew back into the half and Higg and Mahon brought good saves from the Pompey keeper. An interesting penalty decision gave Pompey a chance but again Hall was equal to the challenge. a very soft penalty not long gave Pompey the lead. Last 10 minutes Bognor went looking for an equaliser and were duly rewarded when trialist 1 was on the end of a cross missed by the keeper and bundled it home. The last few minutes saw both teams going for it but neither team were successful leaving a 1-1 final score.
A great result for the Rocks and hopefully Portsmouth were happy with a decent workout. Onto Worthing Saturday and another hard workout for the boys as Robbie looks to see what his team can do

Great to see the old girl as busy as she was last night, just shows how important this fixture is to the clubs coffers.
Good football on show by both teams, not bad for the first home friendly.
Little mention to the stewards last night,as they were tested all night last night by minority of youngsters from both teams. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but in the second half you could sense it was going to kick off. Unfortunately families with younger children got caught up in it all. So my point being if they wasn’t there last night it could and would have been far worse. Sorry to put a little dampener on things.
