Well pre season is done and generally I think we have the nucleus of a decent squad. The newbies seem to have integrated well into the team, morale seems good so where do people think we might finish?
Personally I feel if we stay injury free there is no reason why we can't be flirting in the playoff positions. Over to the rest of you for your thoughts🤔🤔

Somewhere between 6th and 10th.
Too much in the squad and management to finish lower, but it all depends on luck, consistency, injuries, and the officials making the right calls during games (ahem!).
I reckon we have a chance of sneaking into the playoffs and 'doing them', but there are a decent number of very good teams in this league, so we shouldn't get either complacent if we win a few or downhearted if results don't go our way. Heads up, hearts pumping, on to the next game.

Its a seriously tough division but from what I've seen in Pre-season this group at their best can beat anyone on their day. Honestly anywhere from 4th-12th wouldnt shock me! There is a lot of upside but as we have seen the last 2 years it just takes early season injuries and not being able to be consistent in selection to de-rail a season.
Success for me will be staying near enough the play offs to keep things interesting!

My pet octopus predicted lower mid-table for last season. This season he's predicting mid-table but, as pointed out in the above posts, there are a number of known unknown dependencies.
The defence looks solid, particularly with our own goalkeeper, although I would hope the full backs could be a bit more enterprising. Attack looks very promising, much better than last season. It's the mid-field which, like last season, worries me, despite the admirable pocket battleship. There are teams in our league which, although less talented, will win through because they are older, bigger, more robust and know how to play the game and the officials. Twas ever thus.

As Tougher as the league has got,we play better against better teams so let’s hope that works in our favour. Recruitment has been a lot better than normal.
So I’m hoping for a top 8 finish and a good Fa cup run…

I’m hoping for a top 8 finish and a good Fa cup run… Thinking about it, I'd happily trade for fifth bottom and a place in the FA Cup First Round proper for the first time since I had a fringe!

I wondered who would be the first to mention 'a good cup run'. It ain't going to happen Goldy. Sorry mate.
If they do get to the 1st Round Proper I'll happily buy you a drink in Seasons.

That sounds very generous Goldy and it'll be good to meet up.
I'm sure we both agree the priority, though, is promotion to the National League South. A win on Saturday will be a good start.

I believe we will finish in a higher position than last season (14th). For me it all depends on how the likes of Horsham, Dulwich, Hornchurch and Cray Wanderers and others fair this season given how busy they have been in the players market in pre season. But Robbie has brought in almost a new team whilst maintaining some key experienced players (Calv, Harvs and Robbo). Robson has impressed as the past two seasons have gone on and he looks comfortable with Douglas alongside him from what I have seen so far. Ryan Hall looks good in goal. The worry is always injuries and suspensions. For me it's either bottom of the play-offs to 10th as a goal. Despite good creativity in the side I still believe we need another steely midfielder to really contend for the top 3/4. But I think we will surprise some clubs in this division. I've wanted a decent cup run too but I think Robbie will want to do well in the league this season compared to last year.

As mentioned above it will an improvement on last season. Hopefully the season will see us with less injuries. Would love a decent cup run and maybe skirting on the fringes of the playoffs?

I am much more optimistic than last year. We at last have our own squad who seem to be buying into what Robbie and Jamie want. We have a much stronger core to the side and the excellent signing of Mo Jammeh will give us that little bit more. Luck as always will play a huge part. but if we can stay injury free the play offs must be our target.
