Tuesday night see's Bognor start their home campaign against old adversaries Carshalton Athletic under lights at the MKM Arena. 7.45pm kick off
The visitors are up there amongst the favourites for the league having finished 11th last season.
The club were formed originally in 1897 as Carshalton St Andrews, however they changed their name to Carshalton Athletic in 1905 and the new club were now formed. Their early years were spent in the old Corinthian League, and then moved into the Athenian League. In 1973 they joined the Isthmian League till 2004 when they won promotion to the Conference South. Their stay there was short lived, staying just 2 seasons before moving back into Isthmian Premier league in 2006.
Games between the 2 teams are generally closely fought. In the last 15 games between the 2 clubs Bognor have won 8, Carshalton 5 and 2 draws. At Nyewood Lane Bognor have a 5 to 2 victory ratio and 1 draw. Last season The game finished off with a 3-3 draw at the Lane and a 2-1 defeat at Carshalton; a game where Joe Rabbetts scored the goal of the season!!
Lets hope for another cracker at the lane and a victory to send the fans home happy

Again I will try and start a score predictor. Perhaps I am being overconfident but I am hoping for a home win; maybe a 2-0 scoreline. Again open to be shot down.
Just to remind people that the new home shirts should be available in the shop on the night

I have always rated Carshalton Athletic as one of the solid teams in our division. The Robins always provide an entertaining match home or away. But as mentioned above I have seen us get some good results against them. I am excited to see how the players fair this season and from what I have seen, our attacking element has been strong. This is sure to be an entertaining fixture. I will say 2-1 to Bognor as we are home, get rid of that poor home form we saw at times last season and make the newly named MKM Arena a fortress again.

Hoping for three points, obviously, especially to make up for my flag getting stolen at theirs last time. I'm sure some kind soul will bring it back on Tuesday! Keep an eye out!

Like mentioned above hoping for a home victory to start off what will hopefully be a successful home campaign. Maybe a 2.1 or 2.0 would be nice

I see Carshalton won 5-0 at home on Saturday before a bumper crowd of 310 and they are, of course, top of the league. Should be an interesting game on Tuesday.

A 3-3 draw in a game we probably should have won. Sloppy defending allowed Carshalton back into the game when we looked to be in a winning position. Bognor started off well went one up in 9 minutes from a Robson header. Smith, Higg and Pattenden had chances to score a second or third. Carshalton came back strong and scored 2 goals in 3 minutes just before halftime to take a lead. Second half Bognor came out firing got an equaliser from Pattenden on 57 minutes, took the lead on 73 then really should have closed the game down. A sloppy equaliser on 88 minutes saw Bognor hanging on at the final whistle. Still a point is better than nothing. Carshalton look a good team and were bouyant after a 5.0 win Saturday v Potters Bar. In the end can take some positives in to Saturdays game v Hashtag United visit the MKM Arena/. A gate of 666 for a Tuesday night was decent and hopefully we will be graced with a big gate on Saturday as well. Onwards and upwards!!

A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining game. What it lacked in quality was made up for by excitement. Neither side were able to keep the ball for any length of time and were constantly exposed on the counter, adding to the spectacle. Both teams look to have the firepower to maintain a comfortable league position but but will need to address the urge to concede soft goals if they want to challenge the better sides in the division. Special mention to the Referee who facilitated the rapid flow of the game!

Well it was certainly entertaining but a little disappointing not to secure 3 points. I thought for the last ten minutes of the first half we looked very dangerous, only problem it was at the wrong end & it seemed inevitable that we would concede. Real positive for me was scoring 3 goals so if we cut out the "suicidal" passing we should be winning. Early days of course & after maybe another half dozen games we will have a better idea of how the season might pan out.

A thoroughly entertaining evening, with plenty of goals, near misses, mistakes, and some excellent football. Cut out the mistakes, this team will score goals. Carshalton arrived on top of a 5-0 opening-day win and looked like a good side to me. Fully deserved a draw, after being let off by our misses in the first half. A very healthy Tuesday night and onwards to Saturday.

My first game of the season. Thoroughly enjoyable fare. The main positives for me:
- we have pace on the flanks - we get players in the box - we have a centre back pairing that won't get bullied - we're a threat from corners! - Harvey is fit and played really well - Mo can win balls against players twice his size - Mr. Blair did a good job, more decent refs please!
Of course there were negatives too - each goal conceded was very poor in its own way but we still have young and inexperienced players. Mistakes will happen sometimes and they are in good hands. I would have liked to see Isaac come on 10 or 15 minutes earlier as I thought we were getting a bit leggy before they made it 3-3. Maybe he had a slight knock or something - as Robbie says in interviews we fans don't always know everything!

To see 7 goals in two games is good, but when we've only scored 3 of them not so. Come the end of the season teams that have conceded more than they've scored aren't usually very high.

I thought it was a very entertaining game. Shame about the late equaliser from Carshalton but I could see it coming really as they played very direct and had threatening players on both sides of the field. Otherwise, our attacking play was very good and the senior players really put in shifts. Harvey Whyte was immense and despite his yellow card tally, Calvin Davies is really putting in that extra 10% effort since he was captain and that's great to see. The two goals in the first half came in a flash and both our own mistakes from my viewpoint. Their third goal was a great strike to be fair. And it was nice to get the early goal as we usually start slowly in games at the Lane. Exciting times at the MKM Arena and a positive performance will be ideal to roll into Saturday against Hashtag United with positivity. Another interesting match up.

If you read my post above, you will know that we missed some well worked chances but due to good goal keeping they didnt go in. The shots were on target and well struck, on another day they go in. Theres goals in this team.
