Bognor entertain new boys Hastag United at the MKM Arena on Saturday. The club were only formed in 2016 and originally played exhibition matches as they can probably best be described as a social media club. They entered the leagues in 2018 and have raced through the leagues. The club now have over 40 teams at all levels, youth through to mens anda ladies set up. So far they have remained unbeaten with a 2.2 home draw last Saturday v Dulwich and a 4.1 away win on Tuesday night at Concord Rangers. Bognor hope to have Jasper Mather back after his ankle knock at Chatham, whilst Ben Anderson hopes he only has a slight calf strain. Dan Smith continues to grow instrength having played the whole game v Carshalton. Hopefully with such a vast social media following, Bognor hope for another decent crowd after Tuesady nights attendance of 666.

Fair play to them for their swift move up the leagues. It will be an interesting contest with the opponents having a relatively good start with one draw and one win. More of the same attacking style will be needed from the Rocks, whilst being more solid at the back and cutting out the mistakes. If we do that we will be more of a success this year. We had a scout from Hashtag there last night at the Carshalton game so they will be clued up on how we like to play. The lads should still believe in themselves because you just never know.

Entertaining game infront of a good crowd. Unfortunately both sides lacked quality in the final quarter. Despite the endeavour neither side did enough to win. Still a well earned point against an unbeaten team who will be in the upper regions of the league at the end of the season. Onwards to Canvey next week.

This was another tough match and I don't think many would have thought it would end goalless. Good attacking play and some crucial pieces of defending again from various players. Shame about the late sending off of Kieran Douglas. We easily could have lost but equally easily could have won it. In the end a point is a good result given the way Hashtag played. I like Lucas Pattenden and his pace along the right causing all sorts of problems. I just worry that he tries to cut the ball backwards too much into the area instead of whipping it higher for Smith or Mather in the area. Just needs variation there in my view but I am being picky 3 games into a season. Also well played to Isaac Olaniyan, getting his first start in the league, who played very well and linked up play on the left with Smith and Sam. Exciting stuff though. Onwards and upwards.
