Old adversaries Haringey came to town in an unusual position of being bottom of the league. Bognor went into the game having been unbeaten for their last 13 home games, so on that basis it looked on paper that the visitors were in for a hard afternoon. Bognor started brightly and in the opening minutes Dan Smith had a good chance only to be thwarted by the keeper. Dan Gifford also had a half chance but all in all Haringey more than held their own and Ryan Hall was called into action also. Injuries to Jasper Mather and Harvey Whyte before halftime meant that Robbie had to make changes. 2nd half Isaac on as sub caused problems out wide, while Lucas was a constant pain to the visitors defence. Dan Gifford fired Bognor ahead in the 54th minute, having seconds before missed an open goal. Less than 10 minutes later a brilliant inter passing move followed by a inch perfect cross from Spencer was headed in by Gifford for his and Bognor's 2nd. Other chances came and went until the dying minutes when Dan Smith was rewarded for his hard work by bundling the ball in 3.0.
A superb 2nd half sent a great crowd of over 700 home happy and hopeful in anticipation for next weeks cup match v South Park. Our home form is the best in the league, and the MKM Arena really is becoming a fortress, if only we could get a few results on the road and the team will not be far off the plat off positions.

While still not consistent - I think anyone thats watched us would say when we get it right we are playing some seriously entertaining and attractive football. A young squad of guys who are in the most pretty local, can only see things getting better!

As we said last week,we would play worse and win which in my opinion was the case here.in fairness we dominated the majority of play against a side that looked devoid of confidence with former rock Walter Figueroa coming closest to opening the scoring for them but ultimately the 1st half especially was very forgetful.the enforced changes did make us more attacking and we created numerous chances.dan finally scored a scrappy goal shortly after rounding the keeper and blasting high and wide with the goal gaping.he then put away a simple header following a dream of a cross from Spencer.smudger rounded off the scoring with another scrappy goal but one which will hopefully give him much needed confidence.we remain in the bottom half of the table but onlya couple of results away from the dizzy heights of the play off places.onto the trophy now where we have what on paper at least is a winnable tie.COYR

As has been said a forgettable first half followed by an entertaining second half and another excellent attendance. Seems to have been the pattern of several home games this season. I thought Spencer did well when he came on following a really good performance in the SSC. 6 points from the play offs is already a big ask as to make progress we are relying on lots of teams losing points. However whilst the play offs is always a target, all the time we can play entertaining footie & win a fair share of games I am happy! Perhaps I'm too easily satisfied!

Have to say what an excellent signing Spencer Spurway looks. He was cool and composed against Horsham YMCA, and when he came on against Haringey I thought he was outstanding, culminating in the brilliant cross for Dan Giffords second goal. He is quick, good on the ball and works very hard. We have done well to secure such a good signing.
