Bognor made the trip upto the smoke for a game against old rivals Dulwich Hamlet. Freezing cold conditions again greeted Bognor for the 2nd weekend running. The hosts with their frost sheets did a superb job in producing a good playing surface. A big and physical Dulwich took the early play to Bognor while the visitors took their time to get into their stride. Once Bognor got into their stride Lucas and Alfie caused problems out wide. Dan Gifford and Dan Smith hassled the home defence and Bognor came more of the ball. Both keepers made fine saves, whilst Keiran and Robbo dictated the defence. A hamstring injury saw Tommy Leigh-Higgs on for Dan G midway through the half. A poor defensive error gave Dulwich the lead from a dodgy free kick. However just before half time a superb pass from Matt Burgess found Lucas out on the right and his inch perfect cross was swept home by Tommy Leigh -Higgs. 1.1 at half time and Bognor looking the sharper of the teams. 2nd half Bognor came out the stronger of the teams, Joe Rabbetts and Spencer Spurway added to the wide danger, while Tommy again shot narrowly wide and Both Alfie and Lucas brought good saves out the host keeper as both teams looked for a winner. Last 10 minutes Dulwich threw the kitchen sink at Bognor but the defence held firm for a well deserved draw and a share of the spoils. The point moves Bognor up to 11th in the league. A win on Tuesday could see the team move upto 8th and just outside the playoffs. Onwards and upwards COYR's !!!
