A chance to calm down after another frustrating day at the office. How we have come away from this game with nothing is beyond me. A far better performance than Saturday, tempo and possession was much better. However yet again the end product infront of goal was well below what is expected from our forwards. The Lewes keeper made one excellent save from Smith who tried to place the ball into the net. The woodwork twice denied Lucas Pattenden. Smith and Mather should have done better when through on goal but chose to pass instead of shooting. The question is when will we realise you can't score if you don't shoot? First half for our domination we should have been at least 2 clear, but the longer the game went on the feeling was it was not going to be our day!!! 2nd half Lewes were slightly better and restricted Bognor's chances, then BOOM !!! catch us out with their first real chance. Worrying injury to Gifford towards the end of the game. We will play a lot worse and win this season, however we need to maintain our good home form this Saturday against second placed Chatham. Even the Lewes forum admit we were mugged off today so lets bounce back against our bogey team from the past and revenge our narrow 1.0 defeat early in the season. A good crowd of 1474 with an excellent, vocal Bognor support, little baffled about the criticism our fans got for heckling Tamplin who committed numerous fouls throughout the game and only received 1 yellow card, whilst shouting for Calvin to be booked every tackle he made. Perhaps their classless fans ought to think before they comment because if you can't take stick, don't give it!!
Anyway the first of our 5 home games in January, let's get behind the boys again as the fans have been amazing so far this season. Remember the 5 for 4 deal on tickets is still available up till Friday for these games. COYR's

I assume its because there was a chant of 'your dads on the run' combined with some mention of his cocaine empire - to both of which Tamplin laughed, clapped the fans and even pretended to do a line of his shirt, we are vile though obv. Meanwhile their goalkeeping coach was stood in the box giving our fans a solid 5-10 seconds of double w*n*er signs, a thing one of their directors has said he has watched the video and I am lying about. Absolutely vile management group/board they have.

Absolutely vile management group/board they have. 100% agree about their bench. Every opportunity they were up abusing the linesman and ref almost demanding our players get a card or they get a foul !!! It looked like they expected the Bognor players not to tackle and that every free kick should be theirs !!

Not going to comment on anything other than the match as I do believe there is so many positives to take from it although we lost.
Personally thought that was the very first time in a long while, where I’ve thought we’re going to beat Lewes away from home. Superb football, players playing to a structured formation and sticking to it. On another day we go 3-0 up at half time. Second half with difficult weather conditions, rocks hitting the bar and some last ditch defending by Lewes stop us taking the lead. Unfortunately we also seem to concede from a looping free kick at Lewes, with the Free kick finding the head of their centre half who scores. Shame as we was well on top for 74 minutes of that game. A very good entertaining display without scoring.
Dust ourselves off and onto Saturday we go…. Up The Rocks.

Excellent really enjoyed that, only thing not mentioned was the missing person report for a goal scoring number 9.

At least the Lewes reporter appreciated the unexpected nature of the result.
In other news, Faversham Town have today sacked their manager. Having had a £6,000 weekly playing budget last season with the chap in charge, they still got relegated from the Isthmian League South-East Division to the Southern Counties East Premier (this is the same level as the Southern Combination Premier / old Sussex County Division 1).
They sacked the manager today as they may not win promotion... despite increasing the playing budget this season to £10,000 a week. At step 5!!!
Perspective, anyone?
