Bognor's good run continues !!! A cold crisp day greeted Bognor to the perfect 4g pitch at Margate as the game was one of only 5 games to survive the weather. Bognor came into the game in good form with only one defeat in 11 games where as Margate have only 3 points out of the last 18 available. This difference in confidence was clear to see on the pitch as Bognor dominated from the off. In difficult, windy conditions Bognor played into the wind in the first half and despite much of the ball the final pass was always missing, although Gifford should have done better with an opening carved out by Lucas. Bognor had the lions share of the possession, where as Margate relied on the long ball which was easily intercepted by the Bognor defence. 2nd half with the wind behind them Bognor looked better. Tommy Leigh-Higgs on for for Dan Smith made the break through with a great shot into the corner. Minutes later Tommy set up Dan Gifford who made no mistake. 2.0 up and cruising and could have been more. Mather went close, while Bridgeman went close on 2 occasions.
3 more points and joy amongst the good numbers of travelling fans. That is now just one league defeat in 12, upto 7th in the league and on the fringe of the playoff's. Next up 3rd place Billericay next Saturday. Despite losing 2.1 at there's earlier in the season their fans admitted we were robbed, so hopefully revenge will be ours and we can continue with our good form. For what looks likely to be a cracking game get yourselves down to the lane and become Bognor's 12th player.

Another really good performance on a good 4g surface in conditions where a strong wind with a chill factor taking the temperature into the low minus made it difficult, however the rocks adapted far better and really shouldve been at least 2up by the break.lucas was causing problems galore down the right but poor finishing meant we were goaless at the break.we started the 2nd half where we left off but it wasn't until Tommy came on that we really seized total control.his pace and trickery mesmerised their defenders forcing them into a mistake where tommy won the ball 20yds out with his back to goal, swivelled and drilled a low shot into the bottom left hand corner sending the green army behind the goal into raptures.the best thing was to see the elation and emotion from Tommy especially and the rest of the players celebrating with the fans, leading Harvey to nearly end up in the crowd after jumping over the top of everyone.just a few mins later it was 2 after Tommy played a sublime pass to lucks who beat his man and laid it on a plate for giffs 6 yds out with an open goal.but for their keeper we would've scored 4 or 5 as he made some great saves.at the end it was great to have the players and management come over and thank the fans.tommy was great and his contribution maybe earned his motm award from rocks radio but I thought Ben was outstanding throughout.on the train journey home I spoke to a non league ground hopper who said we were one of the most impressive sides he had seen in 30yrs of hopping.he going to Bangor next week,I tried to convince him the bognor would be better choice as he not been to us yet.he said maybe before the end of season as he alternates between England,Wales and Scotland clubs.thats devotion to ground hopping.onto Tuesday at Whitehall if rain doesn't rule it out, then the test against a billericay side that we dominated earlier in the season only to lose so we certainly owe them and would love to maintain the unbeaten home record.COYR

Won’t be easy against Billericay as they are the form side at the moment but given the run the Rocks are on and it’s at home then we should fear no one!

Great away day. A proper professional performance from the lads, proper found the second gear in the second half. We have hell of a squad this season, where you can call on 5/6 players to change the game. TLH being that guy after coming on. Really pleasing to see the players to fans love this season, there’s such a connection for the first time since we won promotion in 2016.
