Okay, the lads have managed one point from the last three games, but I give you a positive.... show me any other team at this step (and I include the top divisions of the Northern Premier and Southern) where a team would play 3rd, 4th and 5th in the table consecutively within a week and stick eight goals past them. Bognor have managed that with a patched-up side and newcomers fitting into the pattern. Plenty to be proud of.

What do you say after a game like that? For the first 15 we bossed the game; went ahead from Dan Gifford following a great inter passing move and delivery by Lucas. Conceded 2 quick goals helped by poor officiating. Got back in it thanks to Tommy-Leigh and then it went pear shaped!!! 5-2 down at half time and I feared the worse. Came out 2nd half and bossed the game. Every player put their bodies on the line. So much so that young Archie on as sub never had a shot to deal with. Further goals from Dan and Tommy-Leighput the fear of God into Horsham who were tottering at the final whistle. Credit to the patched up Rocks who dominated for two thirds of this game and were only undone by their own frailty in a silly 30 minute period. A few days rest and we go again Saturday.

Not often you get a 5-4, though the Rocks have now had two in one season, which may be a record (Statto...?) 5-4 win at Hashtag then a 4-5 loss at Horsham - I can’t say I’m aware of two 5-4 scorelines in the same season before. However, after being 5-2 down at half-time on Monday, I don’t recall the Rocks conceding five in the first half before, not in my time (supporting since 1981 onwards). If anyone can enlighten as to when this last occurred then do feel free!
